Marial Lou Livestock Training Centre (MLLTC)

Marial Lou Livestock Training Center (MLLTC) is a national Livestock Technical Vocational Educational Training (TVET) Center in the Republic of the south Sudan, located in Warrap State, at Marial Lou Payam of Tonj North County. It was established in 1996 by the Veterinary sans frontiers (VSF-B) as the south Sudan Animal Health Training Institute (SSAHTI). Later on it was transformed to MLLTC as a semi-autonomous corporate body by the Livestock Act of 2004, signed under the South Sudan Agricultural Revitalization programs (SSARP) by late Chairman of SPLA/M Dr. John Garang De Maboior, operating under the national Ministry of Livestock and Fisheries. Since its inception, it has trained over one thousand Livestock extension workers (CAHWs, AHA, STP) most of whom employed by the Government, NGOs and few on self-employment. The main teaching methodology is based on application of principles of Competence Based Education (learning by doing), aiming at commercializing the livestock in the Republic of South Sudan.
